You know his movies. Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs. Django Unchained. There are a few more and all of them are critically acclaimed. It’s not speculation that Quentin Tarantino will go down in history as one of the best ever. That’s just pure fact. Films students have studied (and will continue to study) him for generations. Every little aspect of his work is dissected once, twice and three times over. That being said, there are still some shocking facts about QT that you didn’t know. 15 of them to be exact.
1. QUENTIN TARANTINO LIKES TO MIX UP HIS MOVIES
Some say that all of Tarantino’s films exist in the same universe. There are many examples to support this argument but one of the more interesting ones is the Honda Civic from Jackie Brown. Does it look familiar? It takes a keen eye, but that white Honda Civic is actually the same car that Bruce Willis drove in Pulp Fiction. Furthermore, it makes a minor appearance in Kill Bill Volume 2.
2. WARREN BEATTY WAS ALMOST IN QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIES
Yes, Warren Beatty was originally cast as “Bill” in Kill Bill. However, Beatty and Tarantino had creative differences (go figure). Hence, David Carradine came out of the woodwork to take over.
3. VOLVO INSPIRED QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIES
Remember the movie Death Proof? We have a Volvo to thank for that one. Apparently, the concept for the film came about when Tarantino was shopping for a car. He wanted a good car. In addition, he wanted a safe one. One that was…death proof. Hence, the name.
4. LEONARDO DICAPRIO WANTS TO BE IN QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIES
Tarantino originally wanted Leonardo DiCaprio as Colonel Landa in Inglourious Basterds. Instead, Christoph Waltz got the role and we all know how that one turned out. Thanks, Leo.
5. JAMIE FOXX PUT HIS OWN HORSE IN QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIES
Four years before Django Unchained came out, Jamie Foxx received a horse for his birthday. Hence, he loved it so much that he decided to use it in the film.
